Egyptian Association for Collective Rights

Egyptian Association for Collective Rights established 2009, to seek for building an open society with values of justice, freedom, equity, equality, renunciation of violence, intolerance and hatred, a community ,based on democratic community management in managing its resources as an input to development sustainability and ensuring people’s right to live in dignity and freedom.

EACR is focusing on three main programs:

  • Land and Water rights
  • Biological diversity and traditional knowledge
  • Environmental Citizenship

EACR, contributed to establish the Water Forum in the Arab Region, 2009, with number of CSOs in MENA region, focusing on defending the right of people living in the Arab region to access water, for drinking and for production of food.

EACR, is member in numbers of global movements to advocate for the ESCR of small farmers, including, International Planning Committee of Food Sovereignty (IPC), regional representative for La Via Campesina, and People`s Health Movement.

EACR, contributed in a joint publication with HIC-HLRN, including:

  • Housing in Egypt between Slums and. Civilizing Squalor: Toward a Guide for Researchers and Legal Practitioners to Address Housing and Jurists to Address Housing and Land Issues in Egypt.2008
  • The Land and Its People: Civil Society Voices Address the Crisis over Natural Resources in the Middle East/North Africa, 2015.
