Palestine: Patterns of Crime against Land & Housing amid COVID-19
Palestine`s Land Research Center has issued an important new report, charting the principal patterns of violations of Palestinian housing and land rights under “Israeli Occupation of Palestine’s West Bank during the COVID-19 Pandemic.” With maps and field research data, the report analyzes how these major patterns of Israeli military and settler activity combine to represent three simultaneous objectives, ostensibly to:
- Accelerate the implementation of parts of the Trump/Netanyahu “Deal of the Century” conspiracy;
- Annexing the lands of the Palestinian Jordan Valley to pre-empt the Deal;
- Oppose the Deal of the Century because, at some stage, they may have to accept a Palestinian state, no matter how inviable that form may be.
The new report, authored by LRC General Director Jamal Talab Amleh, does not end with mere diagnosis. It lays out a set of strategic recommendations for national land use and preservation of land tenure, especially for front line small-scale farmers, youth and Bedouin communities through policy coherence across the occupied West Bank and Jerusalem.
